Mesquita House

Three contiguous volumes are created, the central volume being interrupted by a patio, with vegetation in the center. In the leftmost body, the volume is released from the ground, safeguarding the lower floor where the gym is located. This gesture also allows establishing a relationship with the outdoor porch area adjacent to the pool.

The different volumes make it possible to separate spaces, clearly distinguishing private areas from social areas. The three bodies are connected by corridors that connect to the patio. The two corridors mark an intention on the elevation, reinforcing the reading of the different volumes that make up the project.

The land object of the proposal is located in an area covered by the Municipal Master Plan of Matosinhos, falling, according to this plan and the respective Land Classification and Qualification plan, in the category of RUSTIC soil – Agricultural spaces. These areas correspond to spaces with a dominant vocation for agricultural or livestock activities. The proposal fits into the farmer’s housing.
